# 1-33

Spring 2020 - Summer 2023. Los Angeles, California

Years ago, I began finding & collecting mirrored rock pairs - shale pieces that split in a specific way, revealing variations of minerals imprinted within. I saw ephemeral scenes , symbols, and shapes represented in them, somehow made infinitely more powerful in tandem. I am attracted to how each recognizes the other, and connections made between “opposing” sides led me to wonder what , invisibly, lies at the center?

33 pairs were selected and displayed on a low , mirrored shelf held by 3 columns containing 11 stacked cork pieces each, and included in the inagural exhibition "Afloat Afield" @ Long Play Contemporary.
